Norths Pirates Junior Rugby Club is a rugby union club for children (boys and girls) aged 5 to 17. It is run by volunteers dedicated to the Club's philosophy of rugby skills development of children and the embodiment of a local rugby community, along with the potential to be a future player or supporter of grade rugby, Super Rugby and international rugby.
The Club's catchment area includes Cammeray, Castlecrag, Crows Nest, Kirribilli, McMahons Point, Naremburn, Neutral Bay, Northbridge, North Sydney, St Leonards, Waverton, and Willoughby.
The Club's home ground is Tunks Park (western end), Brothers Avenue, Cammeray.
The Club is part of the Northern Suburbs District along with Drummoyne, Hunters Hill and Mosman, and as such is a feeder to the Northern Suburbs Rugby Club, the winner of the Shute Shield in 2016!
At Norths Pirates we foster a coaching and playing philosophy which involves:
- Skills development
- Fair play
- Health and Safety
- Sportsmanship and friendship
- Fair and reasonable game time for all players
- Running rugby with all players having the opportunity to handle the ball.
All Norths Pirates coaches are committed to this philosophy. Parents and players are encouraged to follow the same principles. Should any problem arise about the application of these principles then address this firstly with the coach and thereafter with the age group coordinator. To the extent necessary, the problem will be addressed by the Club’s committee.
We are a community club which relies completely on the support of our sponsors and volunteers from within the parent group and the broader community.
A number of the age groups organise tours each season to country tournaments such as Cowra, Scone and Kiama, along with rugby gala days in Sydney throughout the season.
We hold a parents and supporters social night each year as well as an end of season presentation day. Refer to the 'Calendar' page for more details or contact the Committee.
